Ground Improvements

To meet the Football Association requirements for teams at our level  of Football we have to complete the following upgrades at the ground by the end of March 2010. Install toilets in both changing rooms plus a wash basin. Install a wash basin in the match officials room. Provide a disabled toilet and two new urinals for the public. Both rooms with wash basins. Install a wash basin in the present toilets. We also have to upgrade the showers. This would be a tough ask in normal times, but in the present economic climate the challenge we face is huge. Over the last few years many improvements have been made at the ground thanks to the hard work of many people and the generous support of the local community. Floodlights have been erected, fixed barriers around the pitch and hard-standings. A spectator covered area  has been provided and a hospitality room for visiting teams officials. Finally a stand was erected last year. All this will be in vain if we fail to complete the last stage. We are looking to build an extension on the back of the changing rooms to allow the improvements to take place. We estimate the work will cost between £20,000- £25,000. We have at present raised £9,000 towards the project and hope to get a grant from the Football Foundation to help with the cost.

UPDATE

After further discussion we have decided an extension at the end of the changing rooms is more practical than building on at the rear.

Tremendous offer

Ex Club Chairman and builder Dave Gray has offered to do the drawings for the extension and install the blockwork  for the extension when we get to that stage at no cost to the club. Thanks Dave.

The Football Foundation have accepted our tenure agreement at the Recreation ground so we will be in a position to apply for a grant from them.

As soon as the drawings for the extension are finished we will be in a position to  apply for planning permission.
