Welcome to the Stockbridge Football Club website – the football club was founded in 1894.

Stockbridge play in the Hampshire Premier League (HPFL) Senior Division and are managed by Fran Mathers. This is Fran’s first season as the senior team manager and as well building a senior squad capable of achieving the club’s ambition to gain promotion to the Wessex League, he wants to develop young players and bring them into the senior team. With this aim Stockbridge have entered an Under23 team in the Hampshire Combination and Development League. The u23 team will be managed by Liam Fowler assisted by Fran. This innovative approach was the idea of Fran and previous manager Rob Blandford, and is designed to ensure continuity and create a 2 team 1 squad mentality within the club.

Stockbridge became the first team in the HPFL history to play in the FA Vase and have now played in the competition on 2 occasions before a rule change prevented Step 7 teams from competing in the illustrious competition.

Our home is The Recreation Ground, Stockbridge, in the heart of the village. Our groundsmen Pete Savage and Stuart Mawson were  recognised this year by winning the latest Hampshire FA Groundsmen of the Year competition. Formal recognition of what we think is one of the best playing surfaces in the county.   The ground has the much coveted “H” grade, meaning we are eligible for promotion to the step 6 level (Wessex League etc) – it has been the only ground in the HPFL to achieve this ground grading status in the last 5 seasons. Teams have had to organise ground share arrangements to achieve promotion standards.

We have a small licensed club room which provides hot and cold drinks to supporters as well housing many of the clubs archives of photographs which depict much of the clubs history.

Our 125th Anniversary season in 2019/20 was the first season disrupted by the COVID19 pandemic and it meant not just the season being null and void and removing the option of promotion it also prevented a reunion celebration to mark the important club milestone. These plans are “on ice” and we hope to mark the impressive achievements of so many of our brilliant volunteers and former players connected to the club in due course.

Our website is not as old as the football club but is “old school” – we run it ourselves- our President Dave Webb being our webmaster and most importantly it is regularly refreshed and maintained to ensure that visitors can find out about the club and all that we do – both on the football field and in the community.Covid has again put pay to our 2 main fundraising community based events, any any local company who would like to support the club financially would be welcomed.
