Manager Update

Afternoon all, we are just over the half way point in this exciting 2017/18 season and I wanted to provide you all with an update from the management / playing side of things. I must start by thanking everyone for the support we receive both at home and away, it’s great to have the support we do and the lads really do notice and appreciate it.

We are very pleased with how the first half of the season has gone, 18 games in and we sit in 3rd place with 31 points from a possible 54 which we feel is a pretty good return given the strength and competitiveness of the league this season, it’s quite crazy at the moment, teams can find themselves moving up or down 5 or 6 places on a weekly basis which can be tough after a defeat but also makes for an exciting 2nd half of the season.

We know that we have played more than most, which is a testament to the work that goes on at the ground but we feel we would rather have the ‘’points on the board’’ as they say given the strength of the league.

Looking ahead, we travel to league leaders Paulsgrove, we then host Liss Athletic and Hayling Utd before an away day at last season’s champions Bush Hill, again 4 very tough and exciting challenges but we go into them in good form having won our last 3 games and only lost 1 in our last 6.

We are nowhere near the finished article, we still feel we have a lot more growing to do as a team and as a group but the early signs have been encouraging and whilst we are enjoying sitting 3rd in the league we know the hard work is not yet finished.

Thanks again for the support and we look forward to seeing you on a Saturday afternoon again soon!
